Saint Lucy Medal - Patron of the Blind and Eye Diseases
SKU: CM159Saint Lucy medal. The front of the medal depicts St. Lucy holding a dish with two eyes on it in one hand and a palm branch in her other hand. The eyes represent the popular devotion to her as protector of sight, because of her name, Lucia (from the Latin word "lux" which means "light" and the palm branch symbol of victory over evil. The reverse side is marked "Pray For Us".
She is the patron of authors, blind people, blindness, cutlers, dysentery, eye disease, eye problems, glaziers, hemorrhages, laborers, martyrs, peasants, saddlers, salesmen, stained glass workers, Syracuse, Sicily, throat infections, and writers.
Lucia of Syracuse (283–304), also known as Saint Lucy, or Saint Lucia (Italian: Santa Lucia), was a young Christian martyr who died during the Diocletianic Persecution. She is venerated as a saint by the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, and Orthodox Churches. She is one of eight women, who along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, are commemorated by name in the Canon of the Mass. Her feast day, known as Saint Lucy's Day, is celebrated in the West on 13 December.

Orders over $50 ship free in the USA if you choose USPS!

International Shipping Information:
All packages are shipped via USPS (United States Postal Service). Tracking and delivery confirmation are included in the cost of shipping (your tracking number will be emailed to you as soon as your package ships).
Canada: We offer two flat rate options for shipping. You can choose which works best for you during the checkout process. Your package will ship via USPS (United States Postal Service) until it arrives in Canada. It will then be delivered by Canada Post.
